Objective Retrospective research of intravascular embolization for 8 cases repeated epistaxis due to craniocerebral trauma. To investigate therapy, emergency treatments, pathways, materials and complication of the intravascular embolization for repeated epistaxis due to craniocerebral trauma. Methods Various balloon catheters and microcoils were used. According to various condition of patients, the femoral artery approach and the superior ophthalmic vein approach were applied accordingly,Result 7 cases were embolized successfully at the first time with patency of patients were punctured by femoral artery approach. Balloons were used in most cases and microcoil and NBCA were applied in some complicated cases.carry arteries, ICA were occluded in 3 cases. The total success rate was 87.5%. None of the repeated epistaxis recurred when assessed during follow-up.Conclusion Intravascular embolization technique is the optimal treatment for repeated epistaxis due to craniocerebral trauma. Anatomic healing is obtained hard and ICA is occluded easily. Embolization can be done by superior ophthalmic vein approach when internal carotid artery was ligation. Balloon are applied generally, but microcoils and NBCA can make up the disadvantage of detachable balloons in some special cases and get the good clinic results for the repeated epistaxis due to craniocerebral trauma. Right choices of the approach and embolization materials are...
