Objective: Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is ubiquitously expressed in virtually many kinds of cells which could be activated by many factors. NF-kB plays crucial roles in the inflammation and immunoreaction as a kind of transcription factor. The nuclear factor excessively activated often causes certain inflammation factor genes express abnormally. Great attention is paid to NF-kB in the allergy disease pathogenesis and the treatment. Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) adjusted by NF-κB is an important biological active agents which plays a key role on the emergence and development of local inflammation. In this study, our purpose is to approach the pathogenesis and mechanism of Allergic Rhinitis(AR) by detecting the activation of NF-κB and the expression of ICAM-1 mRNA in the middle turbinate mucous tunic of the patients with AR by immunohistochemical method and RT-PCR.Methods: Strictly according to allergy rhinitis patient's selected condition, 32 subjects with allergy rhinitis as experimental group were collected with 20 subjects of deflection of nasal septum as control group. Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of NF-κB p50 and p65 subunits in the middle turbinate mucous tunic. ICAM-1 mRNA were detected by means of RT-PCR. The experimental data were expressed with X±S and the comparison between two groups was detected by t-test. The correlation of two variable between NF-κBp50...
