[Objective]To explore the relationship between evoked potentials (EPs) and chronic anoxic brain damage by chronic intermittent hypoxia(CIH),and provide theory evidence for diagnosis and treatment of anoxic encephalopathy. [Methods]1) A rat model with CIH was set up .2) Rats were divided randomly into hypoxia (H) group and normal (N) group. H group was divided randomly into hypoxia of two weeks group (H2 group) and hypoxia of four weeks group (H4 group), N group was divided randomly into hypoxia of two weeks normal group (N2 group) and four weeks nromal group (N4 group) . Morris water maze was used to observe learning and memory ability in all rats. Then all rats were determined BAEP and SLSEP. Additionly, The brain histopathology variety was observed after the HE staining. Immunohistochemical method was used to investigate the expression levels of caspase-3 in brain tissue.3) It was observed the variation of brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) and short-latency somatosensory evoked potential(SLSEP) along with hypoxia, as well as the variation of ethology and histology of brain.[Results]1) In the results of BAEP, the peak latency (PL) of wave I,III,V and the interpeak latency (IPL) of wave III-V, I -V in H4 group were much longer than N4 group (P < 0.05). H4 group compared with H2 group ,and H2 group compared with N2 group, the PL of wave III,V and the IPL of wave III- V, I -V were much longer (P < 0.05).2) In the results of SLSEP, H4 group compared with H2 group, H4 group...
