Partâ… : Apoptosis of keratocytes in the rat corneal grafts during the early postoperative periodObjective To investigate the apoptosis of keratocytes in corneal grafts on the rat model of penetrating keratoplasty during the early postoperative period.Methods Penetrating keratoplasty was proformed orthotopically from Wistar rats to SD rats and from Wistar rats to Wistar rats.5 whole corneas of each experimental groups were enucleated at random at 24th hour ,7th day postoperatively. The apoptosis of keratocytes was observed by TUNEL assay , and the ultrastucture changes of the apoptotic cells were observed by electron microscopes.Results 1.The amount of apoptotic keratocytes increased obviously in the experimental groups postoperatively, which resided in sub-stroma and near the margin mainly. 2.At 24th hour postoperative the amount of TUNEL positive cells in experimental groups were higher significantly...
