Objective: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis is one of the most severe complications of end-stage liver disease patients. However, for lacking of typical peritonitis symptoms and low rate of positive culture of ascitic fluid, many patients have been misdiagnosed or missed diagnosed at the beginning of infection. TNF-α,IL-6,NO,endotoxin,ADA in serum and ascitic fluid, total protein concentration in ascitic fluid were determinded in patients with and without SBP. And that of patients with SBP were determined again after a 7-day antibacterial treatment. By comparing the concentration of these factors in patients with SBP with that of patients without SBP, and by comparing that of patients with SBP before treatment with after treatment, this study is aimed to estimate the diagnostic value of some cytokines in end-stage liver disease patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, to form a diagnostic equation to diagnose SBP, and to identify the ability of these cytokines to prognose SBP.Methods: 149 end-stage liver disease inpatients with ascitic fluid were included in the study and divided into 2 groups: non-SBP group...
