Objective Neural stem cells of GFP(Green fluorescent protein) transgenic mice were transplanted into the brains of Parkinson disease rats, the survival and differentiation of neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice were investingated. Methods Firstly, the rat models of PD was established and neural stem cells was cultured in vitro, then the neural stem cells suspension was grafted into the lesion striatum of the rat models of PD through orientation. The survival of transplant neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) expression of some neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice were examined by immuneocytoche mical technique, also the rotation behavior was tested and compared with control following different time of transplantation. Results Some grafts were found survived well and some TH-postive cells could be detected in the core of graft region. Neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice transplantation could also partly improve the symptoms of PD rats. Conclusions The results demonstrate that neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice can survive and differentiate into dopaminergic neurons. Neural stem cells of GFP transgenic mice contribute to the behavioral recovery.
