Objective:1. To suggest a viewpoint about individual treatment mode in psychotropic drug.2. To investigate whether the TaqI A DRD2 genotypes are related to therapeutic response to sulpiride in schizophrenic patients.3. To investigate the relationship between the response to sulpiride and the clinical related factors in schizophrenia patients.Methods:150 in-patients with schizophrenia had been treated by sulpiride (200~1000mg/d) for 2 months. The responses to sulpiride were rated with Positive and Negative Symptom Scale (PANSS). The patients were divided into two groups according to the reducing rates of PANSS (≥30 % and <30 % , respectively). The genotypes and alleles in these patients were examined with Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLPs) technique. The significance for the associations was estimated by the the x ~2 and t test and the logistic regression analysis.
