OBJECTIVE: In this study, we take cultivation and Clearview Chlamydia test as "gold standard" respectively to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of real-time PCR, and to analysis factors which are useful for nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) diagnosis. Another objective is to determinate the changes of genitourinary tract microenvironment in women infected NGU by detecting vaginal, endocervical and urethral pH.METHODS: In this study, 180 endocervical swabs from females and urethral swabs from males have been collected and tested by cultivation for mycoplasma urealytium, Clearview Chlamydia test, real-time PCR and microscopic examination, and pH of vaginal, endocervical and urethral secretion of males have been measured by pH indicator tapes at the same time. RESULTS:1.When taking cultivation and Clearview Chlamydia test as "gold standard", sensitivity of real-time PCR is 98.79% and 97.50%, respectively, for mycoplasma urealytium and chlamydia trachomatis, but specificity is lower for chlamydia...
