Objective: To investigate the expressions of EphB4/EphrinB2 mvd and Ki-67 in human brain astrocytomas and meningiomas, and explore their significance in tumor pathology. Methods: Expressions of EphB4 EphrinB2 mvd and Ki-67 were detected with Tissue Microarray technique , and Maxvision shortcut immunohistochemistry in 84 cases of human astrocytomas controlled with 12 cases of traumatic brain tissues, 56 cases of human meningiomas controlled with 14 cases of traumatic brain tissues. Results: Expression of each experimental agent in 84 cases of human brain astrocytomas as follows: Expressions of EphB4 were positive and hadro-positive in 59 cases, expressions of EphrinB2 were positive and hadro-positive in 64 cases; the average mvd value was 35.71±16.711; the Ki-67 LI value was 5.3762±5.30255%. Expression of each experimental agent in 12 cases of controlled traumatic brain tissue as follows: Expressions of EphB4 were positive in 2 cases, expression of EphrinB2 was positive in 1 case, none case is hadro-positive expression of EphB4 and EphrinB2; the average of mvd value was 8.83±2.038; the Ki-67 LI value was 0.1500±0.15076%. The distinction of expressions of EphB4. EphrinB2 mvd and Ki-67 between human astrocytomas and controlled human traumatic brain tissues is significant(P<0.05). There was positive correlation between expression of EphB4, EphrinB2, Ki-67, mvd and tumor grade, hemorrhage and necrosis, but no relationship with age, sex and site (P>0.05) . There was positive correlation between expressions of Ki-67 LI, mvd and EphB4 or EphrinB2. Expression of each experimental agent in 56 cases of human meningiomas as follows: Expressions of EphB4 were 4 scale in 12 cases, 3.5 scale...
