Objectives: To study the effects of Hypoglycemic Ziyabiti Tablet (HZT) extracts on type 2 diabetes mellitus rats and observe its exoteric activity. Methods: (1)To observe the acute toxicity of HZT on mice. (2)After Wistar rats were administrated with high fat emulsion for 10 days, we assessed the insulin resistance by using blood capillary method. They were injected alloxan (ALX) to abdominal cavity in continuous two days, and then the type 2 diabetic rat model was established. The rats were divided into 6 groups: normal control group, model group, positive control group (Xiaoke Pills 420mg/kg) and 220 mg/kg, 440 mg/kg, 880mg/kg HZT drug groups. (3)To observe the effects of HZT on T2DM rats FBG, TC, TG, HDL-C, FINS, IS, ISI. (4)To observe the protection of HZT to Hepatic injury in exoteric experment. Results: (1)At a dosage of 540 times greater than used in humans there were no acute toxicity. (2)After administrated with high fat emulsion, the KITT of wistar rats decreased from 5.8±0.5 in normal control to 2.8±0.9(P<0.01). (3) Compared with model group, HZT 220 mg/kg and 440 mg/kg decreased the T2DM rats'FBG and TC (P<0.05); HTZ 440 mg/kg and XKP 420 mg/kg increased FINS (P<0.01); HZT 220 mg/kg, 440 mg/kg and XKP 420mg/kg enlarged IS (P<0.05). (4)The result of exoteric experiment indicated that HZT had the tendency to repair cell damage and promote cell consuming glucose. Conclusions: HZT could decrease the T2DM rats'FBG, TC and had the effective of repairing cell damage and promoting cell consuming glucose, which hinted the hypoglycemic...
