Objective To assess the change of regional and global left ventricular function following coronary artery revascularization in patients with chronic total occlusions (CTO) by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE). The patients were divided into two groups .Group 1 comprised patients without previous myocardial infarction , and group 2 comprised patients with previous myocardial infarction in the territories of total occlusion vessel that was recanalized .The assessment of left ventricular function and the effect of collateral circulation were performed in two groups .Methods The patients with CTO were observed and analyzed from Oct/2005 to May/2006 (14 cases were performed PCI, 18 cases were performed CABG, all the treatment were successful). According to the territories of total occlusion vessel, the patients were divided into group 1 without previous myocardial infarction (14 cases)and group 2 with previous myocardial infarction(18 cases). Among group 2 existing collateral flow or retrograde flow , then they were subset . RT3DE was performed in all...
