Spontaneous abortion is a complication of pregnancy. Research shows that there are several cytokines participated in the spontaneous abortion related cytokines. The super family of EGF and the family of EGFR are now drawn a lot of attention.The EGF family is a group of glucoprotein which has similar structure and biological functions as epidermal growth factor (EGF). The EGF family consists of EGF,transforming growth factor-α(TGFα),heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF),amphiregulin (AR),beta cellulin (BTC) and other growth factors, It has various physical functions, which take very important part in the process of procreation. During the resent years' research, it is found that HB-EGF has a close relationship with incretion of procreation, it has its deposit in endometrium,endometrium and decidua,and stimulates growth and differentiation of endometrium, and implantation,it is good for trophocyte invadation to endometrium,and it's one critical necessity involved in adhere and implantationThis experiment analyzed the different level of HB-EGF performance in vilii of normal pregnancy and spontaneous abortion through immunohistology, and different level of HB-EGF performance to prove and further study this factor's effect in spontaneous abortion.Materials and Methods: Take the example of 28 vilii from both normal pregnancy and spontaneous abortion in the forth hospital of JiLin university and from January 2006 to January 2007, There are 19 samples of spontaneous abortion, the other 9 are taken as comparison. The observation is conducted through immunohistolog to evaluate HB-EGF's performance in each group. The result appears positive if there is light yellow to brown yellow color inside cytoplasm. Use fix quantify grade. All result are analyzed by EXCEL,shown as x±S, analyzed by records and t test.The result indicated: Normal pregnancy group's performance is positive (++),spontaneous abortion group 's performance is weak positive (+). There is a significant difference between both the spontaneous abortion group and normal (t=2.48,p=0.02, P<0.05). Inside HB-EGF positive cells,positive grain all located on cell membrance and in the cytoplasm.Conclusions: There is a significant difference between both the spontaneous abortion group and normal. The abnormal expressions of HB-EGF play an important role in spontaneous abortion, they are one of the causes of abortion.At the beginning stage of studying on HB-EGF in spontaneous abortion,Weather this factor is the decisive reason for spontaneous abortion,if it can be the indicator for spontaneous abortion forecast,if recombine HB-EGF can be the treating method for spontaneous abortion still need further study and experiments.
