Chitosan was used to fabricate a series of wound dressing. The property of these wound dressing were studied in this thesis. And then one kind of wound dressing was picked to evaluate its biologic effect.In this article, chitosan and hyaluronic acid was used to fabricate a novel wound dressing. Firstly, the transparency of chitosan-hyaluronic acid (CS-HA) films fabricated on different substrates was compared. Then the effect of hyaluronic acid ratio on the surface morphology was observed by scanning force microscope (SFM). The contact angle results show that the CS-HA films have higher hydrophilicity with the addition of HA. By changing the ratio of HA, the water-uptake property and the water vapor permeability (WVP) of the films were also investigated. Both the water-uptake ratio and WVP have improved with the increase of HA. Finally, in vitro BSA adsorption test and cell culture proved that the films has an enhanced property in repelling the protein absorption and cell adhesion, which indicated that the CS-HA films may possess the property of low tissue-adhesive.SD mice was selected as an model animal to evaluate the property of one kind wound dressing whose a mix ratio of chitosan and hyaluronic acid is 4:2, and vaseline gauze was used as a control. Full thickness wound defects which diameter was about 2 cm were produced on the dorsum of each animal. After wounded and treated, the condition of each wound was observed. All these results indicated that the CS-HA can be function as a promising dressing for wound repair.A chitosan/ silver nanoparticle hybrid film was fabricated by in situ photo-reduction of the silver iron pre-adsorbed chitosan film. The chitosan/ silver nanoparticle films before and after photo- reduction were characterized by energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The antibacterial property of the hybrid film was assessed by an in vitro bacteria culture. The results proved thatthe hybrid film possesses an enhanced antibacterial property. Based on the antibacterial chitosan film, a sponge structure chitosan wound dressing was fabricated by freeze-drying, and the parts were adhered together by a kind of good biocompatible glue. All these in vitro results indicated that the wound dressing can be function as a promising dressing for wound repair.
