Peoples are trying to improve the quality of their living along with the nation's industrialization and risen living standards. The society is getting more and more concerned about environment and health hazards caused by the air pollution in the urban areas. In order to deal with this problem, we first have to understand the current air pollution level and investigate its link to the weather conditions. The change of the weather not only affects our body comforts, it also affects our immune system against diseases, making certain diseases deteriorated. Certain weather conditions contribute to the rapid deterioration of certain diseases. By researching the link between human health conditions, particularly some diseases, and the weather conditions, peoples could arrange their working and leisure life according to their individual conditions. The air pollution information used here were provided by Weifang Environmental Protection Bureau, taken between January 2004 and June 2006. The medical cases cited were provided by Weifang People's Hospital, for the period from year 1997 to 2006. All information about the weather conditions were provided by Weifang Meteorological Bureau, including all types of weather related information since 1951.Findings: PM10 is the primary pollutant of Weifang. In one year, 51.70% of the time the air pollution level is considered as low; 5.2% as medium and high. The air pollution level in Weifang in the winter is far higher than summer. It is related to the weather conditions. This is also partly due to the increase of air pollutant released by the coal consumption during winter time. The concentration of the air pollutant is M-shape, peaks in the morning and evening. This is due to the weather conditions and human activities.Precipitation could reduce air pollution significantly. PM10 particulate level is very high during foggy days. As some of the air pollutant, especially SO2 dissolves in water, and result in low measurement reading thus does not reflect the actual pollution level. The increase in wind-speed results in reduction of pollutant concentration. However, when wind-speed exceeds 5 m/s, PM10 raise accordingly. Wind-speed of 5 m/s tend to disperse PM10-best.Based on the analysis, we build statistical approach to seasonal forecasting, as well as rectification according to trend forecasting, would result in more successful forecasting. The influenza occurs mostly in winter. The major factors of the occurrence of influenza are continuing relative high temperature, low humidity, strong cold air activities, and serious air pollution. By analyzing the relationship between the influenza cases and the above mentioned environmental factors, we could build up a forecasting approach. Cold weather is a major weather factor that causes coronary heart disease. We could build up seasonal forecasting approach according to the change in temperature and air pressure.Using the three factors that affect human body comfort, i.e. temperature, humidity and wind, to derive a comfort index calculation formula according to the weather characteristics of Weifang and the people 's habits, as well as grading it.
