Objective: To study expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF in renal carcinoma andthe relation of angiogenesis and invasion and metastasis.Method: The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF were detected byimmunohistochemical techchnique S-P method in 75 patients with RCC and 12specimens of normal renal tissiue. The MVD was defined by expression of CD34.Results: The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF in RCC were significantlyhigher than that normal renal tissiue(P<0.05). The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9VEGF in RCC was not related to pathological type(P>0.05), but to clinical staging(P<0.05). MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF was significantly associated withMVD(r=0.381,P=0.031;r=0.427,P=0.042;r=0.375,P=0.043). VEGF and MMP-2MMP-9 had significant correlation(r=0.422,P=0.035;r=0.507,P=0.020). MMP-2 andMMP-9 hadn't significant correlation (r=0.107,P=0.235).Conclusion(1) MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF in RCC expressed in higher level.(2) The expression levels of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF in RCC was significantlyassociated with clinical staging.(3) The expression levels of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF in RCC was not associated withpathological type.(4) The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF significantly correlated withangiogenesis. Detecting the expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,VEGF may bebiological scale of invasion and metastasis of RCC.
