Objective: To study the relationship between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes of essential hypertension(EH) and blood stasis of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP), left ventricular mass index(LVMI), so as to provide a laboratory diagnosis for the treatment of EH, and to provide a Objective way for the differentiation-classification of TCM syndromes of EH.Methods: 1. To collect 118 qualified essential hypertension patients, and according to criterion of diagnose and TCM syndromes differentiation-classification from《The principle in clinic study of TCP (try line)》(in 2002); 2.15 healthy people were taken as the normal group; 3. Echocardiography was performed to determine left ventricular mass index (LVMI): 4. To test serum BNP levels of them with the method of ELISA。Results: 1. The levels of serum BNP and LVMI in essential hypertension patients and EH with LVH increased significantly compared with the control group (P〈0.01): The levels of serum BNP significantly increased(P〈0.01) and the LVMI increased(P〈0.05) in EH without LVH compared with the control group: 2. The TCM syndromes of EH distributes to have a certain regulation: hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency group〉excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness group〉deficiency of both yin and yang group〉liver-fire hyperactivity group; 3. The distribution of LVH in differentiation-classification: there has significant difference between the deficiency of both yin and yang group,liver-fire hyperactivity group and hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency group (P〈0.01); there has difference between excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness group and liver-fire hyperactivity group (P〈0.05),but compared with hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency group, there has significant difference (P〈0.01); 4. The levels of serum BNP and LVMI in the deficiency of both yin and yang group, excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness group increased significantly compared with hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency group, liver-fire hyperactivity group (P〈0.01), and the deficiency of both yin and yang group increased significantly compared with excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness group (P〈0.01) too。The LVMI in the group of hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency increased compared with liver-fire hyperactivity (P〈0.05);Conclusions: 1. The heighten of levels of serum BNP possibly play an importantrole in the pathogenesis of EH; 2. The levels of serum BNP and LVMI reflect the degree of heart damage in EH; 3. The levels of serum BNP and LVMI are related to TCM syndromes of EH; 4. The BNP is referable bases of the differentiation-classification of TCM syndromes in EH。...
