| Objective: To observe therapeutic effect of Huamoling Powder in treating Knee JointOsteoarthritis (OA) of Type Rheumatic Fever by analyzing changes of the patients' clinicalsymptom marks and level of NO and MMP-3 in joint fluid pre- and post- therapy, whichcan provide theory basis and guide the clinical treatment of Huamoling Powder.Method: 95 patients which were diagnosed as the Knee Joint OA of Type RheumaticFever were randomly divided into 3 groups: Treatment group including 34 cases, Chineseherb control group including 30 cases and western drugs control group including 31 cases.Treatment group was treated with Huamoling Powder. Chinese Herb control group wastreated with Kanguzengsheng tablets. Western drugs control group was treated with Futalintablets. Three group patients respectively eat three type drugs. After 60 days, we observeand analyze all patients by statistics their level of symptom improvement, NO and MMP-3in knee joint fluid of pre- and post-therapy.Result: Most symptom's of patients of three groups after treatment had been improvement.Compared with control groups, the rates of symptoms were controlled or obvious effects oftreatment group after treatment is higher significant (P＜0.01). It explained that treatmentgroup had the significant improvement the symptom and better than control groups.Comparison inside the respective groups: After treatment, clinical symptom marks of threegroups all descend. Treatment group and western drugs control group have greatlysignificarit difference (P＜0.01), western drugs control group has significant difference(P＜0.05) and Chinese herb control group has no obvious difference (P＞0.05) than before. After treatment, level of NO and MMP-3 in knee joint fluid of three groups all descend.Level of both NO and MMP-3 in knee joint fluid of treatment group were all declinedgreatly significant difference (P＜0.01), western drugs control group and Chinese herbcontrol group have no significant difference (P＞0.05) than before. Comparison between therespective groups: After treatment, no matter the clinical symptom, or lever of NO andMMP-3 in knee joint fluid of three groups all descend than before. Compare with treatmentgroup, Chinese herb control group has greatly significant difference (P＜0.01) no matterclinical symptom, or level of NO and MMP-3 in knee joint fluid. Compare with treatmentgroup, western drugs control group has greatly significant difference (P＜0.01) in clinicalsymptom, and level of NO and MMP-3 in knee joint fluid, obvious difference (P＜0.05).Conclusions: (1) the curative effect of Huamoling Powder is better than control groupswhen it was used on treatment group to treat Knee OA of Type Rheumatic Fever. (2)Huamoling Powder may decline clinical symptom mark by treating Knee OA of TypeRheumatic Fever (3) Huamoling Powder may decline level of NO and MMP-3 in kneejoint fluid by treating Knee OA of Type Rheumatic Fever. (4) There is no noxious and sideeffect when we treat Knee OA of Type Rheumatic Fever by Huamoling Powder.
