Clinical Observation Of The Effects Of Langchuang Formula Plus Western Medicine In Treating Lupus Nephritis

Objective: 1.To study the apoptosis the chang of the expression of peripheralblood monocytes cell(PBMC),CD₃⁺CD₄⁺, sFas in lupus nephritis(LN)patients treatedwith the traditional Chinese medicine plus western medicine therapy, and to explore thepotential mechanism of action for clinical drug; 2.To investigate the efficacy and sideeffects of the traditional Chinese medicine plus western medicine therapy in the treatment ofactive lupus nephritis (LN)Method: 1.The levels of serum sFas in 38 Lupus Nephritis patients and 20 heallthycontrols were measured by two-layer antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbentassay (ELISA); the levels of PBMC apoptosis rate were assessed by a novelassay-Annexin V with flow cytometry (FCM); 2. To investigate clinical and laboratorydata, including serum albumin(ALB),urine test, routine blood test, 24-h urinary protein,complement factor C₃, anti-dsDNA, ANA et.Results: 1. Compared with the normal, the apoptosis level of PBMC andexpression of sFas were inereased significantly in pretherapy stage(P＜0.01); 2. In theremission stage, the expression of sFas are inereased significantly than thenormal(P＜0.05); 3. Compared with the normal, expression of CD₃⁺CD₄⁺ were dereasedsignificantly in pretherapy stage(P＜0.05).4. In post-therapy stage, clinical and laboratorydata of treated group showed more marked improvement than that of controlgroup(P＜0.05); 5. treated group was less toxicity than control group(P＜0.05): 6. There was high correlation between the levels of serum sFas and PBL apoptosis rate in LN(P＜0.01),There was positively correlation between the levels of serum sFas and SLE diseaseactivate index (AI) (P＜0.01), There was positively correlation between the levels of PBLapoptosis rate and SLE disease activate index (AI) (P＜0.01); 7. Clinical and laboratorydata of treated group, including 24-h urinary protein,ALB, Hgb and C3 ,showed moremarked improvement than that of control group at the corresponding period,difference issignificant at the 0.05 level (2-tailed); 8. It was less toxicity including moon face, livertoxicity, catch a cold ,insomnia. (p＜0.05)Conclusions: 1.In the active stage of LN, the apoptosis level of PBMC is higherthan normal, The dereased CD₃⁺CD₄⁺ may play an im- portant role in the development ofLN; 2.
