LPME is a new environment friendly sample pretreatment technique that combines extraction, preconcentration and sample introduction in one step, and proved to be a simple, fast and low-cost sample preparation method. The details are summarized as follows:1. Liquid-liquid-liquid microextraction (LLLME-HPLC) was proposed for the determination of methadone in human urine. Relevant parameters, the extraction solvent, the pH in the donor phase, the volume of the organic phase, the extraction time, the stirring rate, and the concentration of the acceptor phase were optimized. The method has provided high selectivity for the determination, of methadone in human urine.2. LLLME-HPLC was developed for the simultaneous determination of ephedrine and codeine in human urine. Relevant parameters, the extraction solvent, the extraction time, the concentration of the acceptor phase, the stirring rate, the volume of the organic phase, the volume of the droplet were optimized. The method has provided high selectivity for the simultaneous determination of ephedrine and codeine in human urine.3. A method was developed for the simultaneous determination of amphetamine, codeine and morphin in human urine. Carder mediated-transport LLLME-HPLC was developed for the simultaneous determination of amphetamine, codeine and morphine in human urine. The results indicate that LLLME can be successfully applied to the separation and enrichment of hydrophilic drugs by adding carder into the organic phase and the applied range of the liquid phase microextraction has been expanded.
