Ame:To investigate the relationship of visceral fat and metabolism Syndrome in mid-agedpersions and elder persons in the countryside of Changchun, then drew up the cuttingvalue of visceral fat forecast metabolism syndrome. Methods:We researched 40~70 years old resident population (306 male, 523 females) in theYinmahe, Hongguang village of Changchun and in the Aladi, Dazheng village of Jilin. Weexamined body height, body weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, visceralfat, blood pressure and blood fats et ac. blood, fats and glucose were examined in JilinUniversity Third Clinical Hospital. The blood pressure and visceral fat were examined bymercury column haemomanometer and Body Composition Analyzer. Diagnostic criteria ofmetabolism syndrome: SBP≥130 mm Hg and (or) DBP≥85 mm Hg, triglyceride≥1.69mmol/L, high density lipoprotein cholesterol<1.03 mmol/L, Fasting plasma glucose≥6.1mmol/L, waist circumference: Male≥85cm, female≥80cm. The Clinical diagnosticstandard of metabolism syndrome is that there arc 3 items or above in the 5 items. Wedivided persons into 40-49 years group, 50-59 years group and 60-70 years group toanalysis with SPSS 11.0.Results:1. Visceral fat were 9.4±3.3, 10.8±3.4, 12.4±3.5 and 5.8±2.0, 6.2±2.2, 6.7±2.1 in the 40,50 and 60 age male and female groups respectively, difference is significant betweenmale groups, P≤0.01; however, difference is not significant in female groups exceptfor 60 age group, P≤0.01.2. Hypertension rates were 39.0%, 49,6%, 69.6%and 29.2%, 39.4%, 50.8%in the 40, 50 and 60 age male and female groups respectively, difference is significant betweenmale and female different age groups, P≤0.05; hypertriglyceridemia rates were42.9%, 34.3%, 22.8%in the 40, 50 and 60 age male groups respectively, difference issignificant between groups, P≤0.05. Metabolism syndrome rates were 13.6%, 26.1%,30.5%in the 40, 50 and 60 age female groups respectively, difference is significantbetween groups, P≤0.05.3. The visceral fat is positive correlation with waist, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, triglyceride. But the visceral fat is inverse correlation with high density lipoproteincholesterol and positive correlation with total cholesterol and low density lipoproteincholesterol in female. BMI is positive correlation with waist, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesteroland inverse correlation with the high density lipoprotein cholesterol.4. Visceral fat were 12.3±1.4, 13.4±2.4, 15.0±1.7 and 6.9±2.2, 7.4±1.8, 7.8±1.3 in the40, 50, 60 years group of male and female metabolism syndrome patient respectively.5, When visceral fat were 11.5, 12.5, 13.5 in40,50,60 years male group and 6.5 infemale group, the ROC curve analysis sensitivity and the specificity result are biggest.6. High waist circumference rates were 16.6%, 61.9%, 80.0%and metabolism syndromerates were 8.0%, 14.2%, 30.0%respectively in BMI<23, 23-25,≥25group ofnormal VFA individuals; High waist circumference rates were 0%, 83.3%, 96.5%andhypertriglyceridemia rates were 0%, 42.9%, 56.6%respectively in BMI<23, 23-25,≥25group of high VFA individuals. According to VF and BMI, 141 and 115metabolism syndrome patient are found.Conclusion:1. The visceral fat level in male is higher than in female, and the visceral fat level ishigher with age increasingly.2. Metabolism syndrome and its component rate are increasing with age.3. Visceral fat is positive with blood pressure and serum triglyceride levels, but Visceralfat is inverse with the high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. 4. Visceral fat is related to metabolism syndrome component quantity and withcomponent of metabolism syndrome increasingly, visceral fat is higher.5. The cutting value of metabolism syndrome is Visceral fat≥7 in Female,≥12 in40-49 years old people in male,≥13 in 50-59 years old people in male,≥14 in60-70 years old people in male.6. Visceral fat is better than BMI for predictive value of metabolism syndrome.
