The mental health of emergency staff can not only affect themselves but also their work quality. With the gradual development of emergency medicine, the social demands of emergency job and emergency staff are increasing. Therefore, it's necessary to investigate the mental health of emergency staff, and find out relative factors in order to improve the quality of clinical practice and promote the development of emergency staff's mental health.Objective: To investigate mental healthy status in emergency staff and find relative factors in order to offer some evidences for promoting the development of emergency staff's psychological health.Methods: The self-reported questionnaires were administered among 220 emergency staff in Beijing. It was a cross-sectional study.Results: It was found that there was significant difference between the mental health and ill health group for work-related stress(P<0.01). Correlation analysis revealed a strong association between mental ill health and McLean's three factors. Positive coping and social supports were negatively association with mental health, while significant positive correlations were obtained between negative coping and mental health.Conclusion: This study showed that work stress factors have close relationship to metal healthy status in emergency staff. Coping style and social support were important influence factors of mental health. It is necessary to improve the mental health of emergency staff.
