Objectives: To find the relationship of glycemic excursions (GE) withC-peptide and chronic diabetic complications by utilizing continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) in type 2 diabetes preliminary diagnosis. Methods: A total of 24 type 2 diabetes are obtained, who are in hospital orout-patient clinic and preliminary diagnosed. Through examining, they all have at least one or two diabetic chronic complications. They are employed from continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) for 72±6 hours, and we calculate individual mean amplitude of glycemic excursion (MAGE) and postprandial glycemic excursion (PPGE). At the same time, we collect the data of eight-point meter glycemic monitoring body mass index (BMI) waist to hip ratio (WHR) HbA1c C-peptide and some of diabetic chronic complications, transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) and ankle-brachial index (ABI), to analyze the correlation of every data with HbA1c MAGE and PPGE.Results: 1. HbA1c has a significant correlation with 24hMBG, but has nocorrelation with MAGE. GE of mane primo and PPGE of breakfast and dinner are the risk factors of HbA1c. 2. MAGE is incriminated to PPGE of postbreakfast probreakfast and prolunch. 3. Fasting serum C-peptide have a negative correlation with GE of probreakfast and postmeal, 2 hours postmeal C-peptide have a negative correlation with GE of postmeal, Fasting serum or 2 hours postmeal C-peptide both have no correlation with MAGE. 4. DR has a correlation with PPGE of bedtime and 1 hour postbreakfast; DN ABI and TCD all have no correlation with HbA1c MAGE or PPGE, and DN has a positive correlation with BMI. ABI has a positive correlation with glucose of bedtime. Conclusions: HbA1c may reflect mean blood glucose a day precisely, but can not reflect MAGE. GE may predict DR, and the function descending of islands pancreas may be one of the reasons of glycemic excurse.
