Purpose: To investigate radioprotective effects 2 kinds of herb, rubiayunnanensisand rubidat, on mice. Methods: The radiation-injured model that the mice exposed to 6oCoγ-rays at a dose of 6Gywere applied to evaluate the radioprotective effects of the three plateau natural herbs of Yunnanprovince. In experiments, the body weights of the mice, the erythrocyte, the leukocyte, the plateletcounts in peripheral blood, the bone marrow DNA contents;the number of karyota of femur inmice, the spleen index and the thymus index and the endogenous spleen colony forming units weremeasured. Results: (1)The alcohol extract of radix arnebiae were given to mice afterirradiation at the continual 10 days. But the exprimental items were no significantdifference between the three drug groups and the irradiating control group. (2) Thealcohol extract of Rubiayunnanensis could enhance the number of red cell ofperipheral blood routine in the sixth day after radiation, compared to the irradiatingcontrol group(P<0.05). (3) The high group of Rubidat were given to the small rat at thecontinual 10 days, which compared to the group of radiation., the quantity of the whitecells, the red cells, the PLT, the nucleocyte and the content of DNA has difference instatistics(P<0.05).Conclusions: (1) The alcohol extract of Rubiayunnanensis cound promote therecovery of the red cell counts in peripheral blood of the irradiated mice. (2) Thealcohol extract of Rubidat cound promote the recovery of the blood system. The one ofanti-protectional mechanism maybe is the capability to clear the free radical. The agent ofmang sugar could enhace ability of anti-radiation...
