Tuber Ophiopogon, as a tonic to moisten yin, is wildly used in China, Ophiopogonjaponicus (L. f.) Ker-Gawl.(Liliaceae) was recorded in China Pharmacopoeia (2005 edition)as the quality goods. Steroidal saponins and homoisoflavones are its main constituents. Thisthesis aims at investigating the chemical constituents of the fibrous roots of Ophiopogonjaponicus and providing some chemical evidences for comprehensive utilization of theresource of Ophiopogonjaponicus. The chemical components were isolated by solvent extraction and chromatography. Thestructures were identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data.nineteen compounds were obtained and identified as diosgenin 3-O-[2'-O-acetyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), pennogenin 3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), permogenin 3-O-[2'-O-acetyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranoside(3), 25(S)-ruseogenin 1-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)] [β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)]-β-D-fucopyranoside (4), diosgenin 3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→2)]-β-D-xylopyranosyl (1→3)-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), ruscogeninl-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]-β-D-fucopyrano-side (6), ophiogenin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), methylophi-opogonanone A (8), methylophiopogonanone B (9), methylophiopogonone A (10),6-aldehydoisoophiopogonone A (11), N-(2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl)-4-hydroxycinnamide(12), N-[2-hyd-roxy-2-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-ethyl]-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-acrylamide (13),tianshic acid (14),β-sitosterol palmitate (15), bomyl 7-O-α-L-arabinofuranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (16),β-sitosterol (17), daucosterol (18), glucose (19). Among them, compounds 1 and 2 were new compounds.
