Objective: The purpose of this paper was to investigate the expression, clinical significance of anti-oncogene P53, p16 and Smad4 in pancreatic adenocarcinoma and normal pancreatic tissue. Methods: Immunohistochemical stain was used to examine the expression of the p53, p16, Smad4 in 30 pancreatic adenocarcinoma tissue and 10 normal pancreatic tissue.Result: The positive rate of anti-oncogene p53, p16 and Smad4 expression were 43. 33%(13/30), 56. 67% (17/30), 70. 00%(21/30) in pancreatic adenocarcinoma tissue and 0 (0/10), 100% (10/10), 90% (9/10) in normal pancreatic tissue, respectively. NO significant difference was found between the expression of p53, p16 and age, gender, thesize of tumor (P>0. 05), but there was significant difference between p16,Smad4 expression and the degree of tumor differentiation (P<0. 05).Conclusion: anti-oncogene p53, p16 and Smad4 mutation may be play an important role and show certain specificity in the pathogenesis of pancreatic carcinoma.
