Objective To explore the clinical application and imaging technology of 64-slice spiral CTangiography on coronary artery. Methods We analysed retrospectively 88 cases imagingmaterial of 64-slice spiral CT angiography on coronary artery, 80 cases have no stents, othercases had stents. In our study, we investigated preliminarily the influential factors of imagingquality and distribution of coronary atherosclerotic score (CAS) and stenosis on 4 branches, compared various kinds of reconstructing methods in the visualization of anatomicstructure, atherosclerotic plaque, and stenosis degree, and evaluate preliminarily the stent incoronary artery with 64-slice spiral CT angiography. Rusuits Among the 1040 segments of80 non-stent patients, evaluable segments account for 93.4%(971/1040), Unevaluablesegments account for 6.6%(69/1040), and abnormal heart rate or cardiac rhythm are the maincause (45/1040). There was no difference in the visualization of thicker coronary artery withvarious kinds of postprocessing technology, but the rate of visualization of slender segmentwas lower. We found 174 pieces of coronary artery atherosclerotic plaque, most of themwere calcified plaque(105/174) and were found on LAD (60/174).The detection rate ofcalcified plaque with MIP were higher than other postprocessing technology, and thedifference had statistical significance. 108 stenosises were found on coronary artery, andthere were more stenosises on LAD (39/109) than on other branches. Moreover, moresignificant stenosises(≥50%, 85/109)were found, and the distribution on different brancheshad statistical significance (x~2=9.535, P<0.05).Meanwhile, we observed 15 stents of 8patients, and all of them were patent with a shape of dash line or dash ring. ConclusionFirstly, Heart rate or rhythm is still a main influential factor of imaging quality. Secondly,64-slice spiral CT angiography is a reliable method to evaluate coronary artery, not only wecan find CAS (Coronary atherosclerotic score), but also we can analyse the component ofthe CAS. Finally, 64-slice spiral CT is a reliable tool to evaluate coronary artery stent.
