Objective To clarify the association between MarburgⅠpolymorphism of factorⅦ-activating protease and carotid artery sclerostenosis, and explore the genetic markof the susceptibility of carotid atherosclerosis. Methods Real-Time Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-Time PCR) (TaqManprobe) was used to analyze the gene polymorphism of FSAP in 50 carotid arterysclerostenosis patients and 48 sex-and-age-matched healthy controls. Associationsbetween FSAP polymorphisms and the carotid artery sclerostenosis were assessed bylogistic regression analysis,Results In this study, the FSAP MarburgⅠpolymorphism was found in 3 subjects(total carriage rate 3.1%). 3 subjects all were heterozygous (no one was homozygous).Compared with the control group(carriage rate 2.1%), an increased frequency of FSAPG511E (MarburgⅠ) variant were not found in carotid artery sclerostenosis group(carriagerate 4%), P>0.05. The results showed that the frequency of carriers of FSAP MarburgⅠin chineses were lower whether in the control group or in the sickness of carotid arterysclerostenosis group. Conclusions the MarburgⅠpolymorphism of FSAP maybe not associated with carotidartery sclerostenosis...
