Objective: Compare the score of insufficiency of kidney-YANG in differentpatients of age and course of disease. Investigate the position and effect ofinsufficiency of kidney-YANG in the pathogenesis of chronic prostatitis. It providesclinical treatment with theoretical basement. Methods: According to the diagnosis standard of NIH for CP and diagnosisstandard of TCM, 137 chronic prostatitis patients of insufficiency of kidney-YANGwere confirmed, and divided into 4 group by the course of disease. Each patient wastested with the schedule of insufficiency of kidney-YANG and NIH-CPSI. Thedependability were confirmed by approach the data of the insufficiency ofkidney-YANG, the course of disease, the years of age, NIH-CPSI, EPS.Result: (1)There was highly significant different between the groups of thecourse of disease over 3 months and over 24 months, the group of the course ofdisease over 6 months and over 24 months in the integral of insufficiency ofkidney-YANG(P<0.01). There was significant different between the groups of courseof disease over 12 months and over 24 months in the integral of insufficiency ofkidney-YANG (P>0.05). (2)The significant different exist in the groups of age 48and 18,24,32 in the score of insufficiency of kidney-YANG(P<0.01). The significantdifferent was found between the groups of age 48 and 40 in the score of insufficiencyof kidney-YANG (P>0.05). (3)There was significant positive correlation between thescore of insufficiency of kidney-YANG and the age of patients(r=0.367, P<0.01).There was significant different betweenⅡandⅢb in the score of insufficiency of kidney-YANG(P>0.05). No significantly different was found betweenⅡandⅢa,Ⅲa andⅢb in the score of insufficiency of kidney-YANG(P>0.05).(4)Thelevels of white blood cell,SPL counts in EPS were no correlation with the score ofinsufficiency of kidney-YANG(P>0.05).Conclusion: (1)The insufficiency of kidney-YANG is one important reasonwhich lead the prostatitis to be diffcult to cure; The correlation is not significantbetween the degree of insufficiency of kidney-YANG and the course of disease inshort time, but would have emerged significantly after two years. (2)The degree ofclinical symptom have highly significant positive correlation with the score ofinsufficiency of kidney-YANG in the patient of insufficiency of kidney-YANGsymptom's Chronic prostatitis. (3) There is positive correlation between the age ofpatents and the score of insufficiency of kidney-YANG. (4) The level of deficiency ofkidney-YANG syndrome ofⅢb was manifest highly then that ofⅡ. (5)The counts ofSPL and WBC in EPS have no correlation, the score of insufficiency ofkidney-YANG.
