Parents wereinterviewed about about a wide range of exposures that occurred during the firsttrimester and before the pregnancy. The data was dealt with single factor analysisand Conditional logistic regression model using SPSS 11.5.Results: Single factor analysis showed amily history, maternal age, maternaleducational level, maternal taking folic acid, maternal infection, maternal fever, maternal taking medicine, maternal exposure chemical toxicant to during firsttrimester of pregnancy, paternal age and paternal educational level weresignificantly associated with nonsyndromic Cleft lip with or without cleft palate. The result of conditional logistic regression analysis indicated family history, maternal educational level, maternal taking folic acid, maternal infection, maternaltaking medicine, maternal exposure chemical toxicant to during first trimester of pregnancy were significantly associated with nonsyndromic Cleft lip with orwithout cleft palate. Conclusion: Family history, maternal infection, maternal taking medicineand maternal exposure chemical toxicant to during first trimester of pregnancywere the risk factors of nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate, whilehigh maternal educational level, maternal taking folic acid during first trimester ofpregnancy were significantly associated with nonsyndromic cleft lip with orwithout cleft palate.
