Objective:Expression of high-risk human papilloma virus(HPV16/18)in high grade esophageal intraepithilial neoplasia and esophageal squamous carcinoma were detected, and the significance of it in esophageal carcinogenesis was investigated.Methods:1.40 cases of esophageal squamous carcinoma were selected which included normal mucous membrane of esophagus, high grade esophageal intraepithilial neoplasia and esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue.2.Tissue chips were made and HPV16/18 DNA was detected by in situ hybridization.3.The correlativity between HPV expression and clinical pathological parameters was analyzed. Results:The positive ratio of HPV expression in normal mucous membrane of esophagus, high grade esophageal intraepithilial neoplasia and esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue were 37.5%,60%,85%respectively.There was significant differences among the three groups each other. There was correlation between HPV expression and infiltrating depth of esophageal carcinoma. But there was not obvious correlation between HPV expression and age, gender, pathological grade, clinical stage, general typing, metastases and cigarette and liquor hobby. Conclusion:HPV expression is correlated closely with esophageal carcinogenesis.HPV expression is concerned with invasion of esophageal carcinoma.
