[Objectives] polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a commonendocrine metabolic and the main androgen disorder in women, but nowthere's no exact and uniform definition in international world, it isassociated with many factors of arising this disease, it features a highpercentage of serum androgen levels and chronic anovulation Whichcause women's catamenia is in disorder, can not pregnant. Along withpeople study the clinical feature further and deeper, we find that InsulineResistance (IR) is one of the。In many PCOS patients, overweight orcentral obesity is generally associated with increases in fasting insulinlevels, insulin resistance, and glucose intolerance. Recent study thinksthat PCOS patients has the high risk of developing diabetes (Ⅱ) andcardiovascular disease. Through observing 304 PCOS patient's conditionof glucose and lipids metabolism, and 47 PCOS patient's condition ofglucose and lipids metabolism after metformin treatment, this paper is inorder to find the way to change the disorder in glucose and lipidsmetabolism, so that we can reduce the risk of causing the PCOS patientshave other disease such as diabetes (Ⅱ), artery arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease.[Results] Results: In total 304 PCOS patients, impaired glucosetolerance and diabetes are 15.8% (48/304) and 3.9% (12/304)Statistically significant impaired glucose tolerance increases were notedin higher BMI patients(r=0.328, P=0.000).Comparing 3 groups(IR,Non-IR, and the control), BMI,WHR are significant higher and CHO,TG,LDL-C level are much lower in IR patients((P<0.05). Themetformin therapy does not reduce BMI,WHR (P>0.05), but it candecrease the CHO,TG,LDL-C level and increase the HDL-C level inIR group significantly.[Conclusion] (1) A Lipids metabolisms the PCOS patient's weight isheavier, the formation rateof impaired glucose tolerance and diabetesincreased. The weight is positive correlated with the formation rate ofdisorder in glucose, and is negative correlated with the sensitivity ofinsulin. Which shows that weight is one of the important cause to affectthe PCOS patient's glucose in disorder. (2) To the PCOS patient, thelevel of glucose when patient is in limosis couldn't been considered as theforecast guidance or the dangerous factor. So most the PCOS patientshould do the test of glucose tolerance, if find and have therapy earlier,it is good to prevent from have illness complicated. (3) The PCOSpatients, especially to the patients who have insulin resistance, haveobviously disorder in lipid metabolisms. The patient's CHO, TG, LDL is increased, HDL is reduced, which is the high risk of arteryarteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. (4) The metformin therapycan reduce the consistency of glucose, ameliorate the sensitivity ofinsulin, reduce the insulin resistance; it also can reduce the level ofCHO, TG, and LDL, increase the level of HDL-C. Which shows thatthe metformin therapy is one prevent method to the PCOS patient'sillness complication.
