Objective The purposes of this research were to explore the circumstance of college students'internet using behavior, and internet addiction. Analysis the difference groups of college studentson internet using behavior and internet addiction in Macau. The explore the correlated factors ofinternet addiction and according to the findings give effective suggestions for health educationand psychological support, reducing use of internet negative influence.Method This study investigated 1,120 college students in Macau. The research of instruments,including internet usage survey, Chinese Internet Addiction Scale-Revised (CIAS-R), CollegeLife Scale-Revised, Self-Esteem Scale. The data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 and Chi-SquareTest, Independent Samples T-Test, One Way ANOVA, and Pearson Correlations.Results The research results were found as following: (1) The circumstance of collegestudents' interriet using behavior: The location of gone on internet mainly at home, dormitoryand the computer center of the college; the main browsed website is news media website,chatting and making friends website and on-line play; the main motive is look up reference andobtaining and sending e-mail and style of chat room/ICQ; the time of using internet mainlybelow seven hours every week, and 12.6% were over thirty-six hours; the time of using internetmainly at twenty-two o'clock to before dawn. (2) The correlated factors of internet addiction:there were remarkable differences between different major students on CIAS-R scores; therewere remarkable differences between different locations of gone on internet on CIAS-R scores.At dormitory students have more scores than at home and others location of gone students; thestudents at online video games and look up stimulation (sexy and gambling) have higher scores;the relationship and health had remarkable negative correlation with CIAS-R scores; the timeand cost of internet had remarkable positive correlation with CIAS-R scores; the college lifescale and self-esteem scale had remarkable negative correlation with CIAS-R scores.Conclusion The college students mainly went on internet at home in night. The related factorson internet addition of college students in Macau are sex, major, health, location of gone on internet, time of using internet, cost of internet, motive of using internet, type of internet, collegelife adaptation, self-esteem problem. Finally, researcher expects some suggestions for schools,parents and further study were made according to the findings.
