[OBJECTIVE] Detecting the level of lipid, appoprotein, HDL-subclasses in serum with healthy people and OA patients staged according to X-ray, clinics, pathology, we investigate whether HDL and HDL-subclasses levels could be use as an assistant diagnostic index and severe degree index of OA in order to provide theorical foundation for early prevent, diagnosis and therapy.[METHODS] 54 healthy people and fifty OA patients were enrolled, we detected TG, TC, HDL-C in serum of theirs by ELISA. We detected APOA1, APOB100, APOC2 and APOC3 levels in serum by single IDK. HDL and HDL-subclasses were detected by AGE, GPGE, IB.[RESULTS] The results of lipid, apoprotein, HDL-subclasses in serum with OA patients and controls suggest: compared with controls, the data of TG, HDLC, APOA1, APOC2, APOC3, APOE, pre-β1, HDL3a, HDL3b, HDL3c have significantly statistical difference(p<0.001). Compared with controls, the levels of TG, APOC2, APOC3, APOE, pre-β1 in serum with OA patients obviously increased, especially HDL3a, HDL3b, pre-β1(p<0.001)Compared with controls, the levels of HDL3c, HDLC, APOA1 in serum with OA patients obviously decreased, especially HDL3c(p<0.001) while the levels of TC, LDLC, APOB100 show no statistical difference(p>0.05). The levels of lipid, apoprotein and HDL-subclasses show no significant difference in serum with OA patients of same stage according to X-ray, clinics, pathology. The levels of HDL3c and pre-β1 have significant difference among different stages according to the same standard. In general, the levels of HDL3c and pre-β1 significantly changed as stages were advanced which suggest large granula increased and small granula decreased in serum with OA patients.[CONCLUSION] The results indicate that the levels of some lipid, apoprotein, HDL-subclasses have significant difference between the OA patients and controls. Combined with clinical theory and study for the relashionship between OA and lipid, apoprotein at present, we consider the changes of levels of pre-β1, HDL3a, HDL3b, HDL3c have correlation with OA and the detection of levels of pre-β1, HDL3a, HDL3b, HDL3c could use be as early assistant diagnostic index and even could provide refference for the severity of OA patients. The levels of TG, HDLC, APOA1, APOC2 and APOC3, APOE could not be use as early assistant diagnostic indes because they are correlated with many diseases, although they have significant difference.
