Objective:Tretinoin and its analogs was found to have a variety of the biological behavior through multiple signal pathway, but llittle was known concerning its mechanism. We studied the effect of the selective interruption on the Survivin and apoptosis inducement in bladder cancer cells by treating with all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA).Methods: The effects of ATRA on the proliferation inhibition of bladder cancer cells were studied by using trypanblau counting,MTT assays, and the apotosis was studied by in situ cell apoptosis detection and flow cytometry. The variation of Survivin expression was detected through verse transcription-polymerase chain(RT-PCR).Results:ATRA has the inhibitory action to the tumor cells 5637 proliferation and induces apoptosis ,which is related to the response time. ATRA assumes to suppress 5637 cells Survivin mRNA expression. Conclusion: ATRA has the fuction of proliferation suppression and apoptosis inducement on bladder cells. It is able to suppress the Survivin's expression of bladder cancer cells. Cell apoptosis induced by ATRA may be related to the decline Survivin as concerned.
