Objective: To investigate the expression of EMMPRIN and MMP-2 in renal clear carcinoma(RCCC) and their correlation with tumor angiogenesis and the prognostic value.Method: PV-9000 Polymer Detection System For Immuno-Histological Staining was used to determine the expression of EMMPRIN and MMP-2 in 80 RCCC tissues and 30 normal kidney tissues .The relationships between the above marks and the prognostic value were then analyzed.Results:1. Expressions of EMMPR1N and MMP-2 were noted in both RCCC tissues and normal kidney tissues. The positive rates of EMMPRIN and MMP-2 were much higher in RCCC than in normal kidney (P<0.05).2. The expression of EMMPRIN was correlated with TNM stage(P<0.05) and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05) in RCCC, but not with age (P=0.481), tumor site (P=0.393) and diameter of tumor (P=0.084).3. The expression of MMP-2 was correlated with TNM stage(P<0.05) and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05) in RCCC, but not with age (P=0.417), tumor site (P=0.227) and diameter of tumor (P=0.613).4.There was a positive correlation between expression of MMP-2 and that of EMMPRIN in RCCC.5.Univariate survival analysis indicated that prognostic of patients with RCCC was significantly correlated with pathological stage,lymph node metastasis,expression of MMP-2 and EMMPRIN (P<0.05). Cox'proportional hazards model multivariate survival analysis showed that expressions of MMP-2 and EMMPRIN can be independent prognostic factor of RCCC.Conclusion: Invasion and Metastasis in Human RCCC was significantly correlated with expression of MMP-2 and EMMPRIN; Cox' proportional hazards model multivariate survival analysis showed that expressions of MMP-2 and EMMPRIN were independent prognostic factor of RCCC.
