Clinical Analysis Of Treatment Of Advanced Esophageal Carcinoma With Membrane-covered Metallic Stent And PDT

Objective:To evaluate the clinical curative effect of treatment of advanced esophageal carcinoma with membrane-covered metallic stent and PDT.Methods:The clinical data of 76 patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with endoscopy and PDT from 2004 were analyzed retrospectively.And 20 patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with the radi-therapy were contrasted with those treated with PDT.Result:64 membrane-covered metallic stent were implanted in 64 patients,the success rate was 100%.The phenomena of dysphagia improved obviously.12 patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with PDT and the totel rate of effective was 83.3%.20 patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with the radi-therapy and the totel rate of effective was 55%.The two groups showedstatisticdifference on effectivity(P＜0.05)significantly.The survival rate of the half year and the one year overall survival of the PDT treatment groups was highter than of patients in the radiotherapy alone.But the two groups showed no statistic difference on the survival rate of the half year and the one year(P＞0.05).＜0.05). Conclusion:Implantation of membrane-covered metallic stent and PDT are effective and safe in the treatment of late-stage esophageal carcinoma.The short-term efficacy with PDT was better than that with tadio therapy.PDT can enhance long-term survival rate definitely.
