A Case Control Study On The Risk Factors Of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation

Objective:In order to provide information for the study of etiology,prevention and reproductive health service of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation,the risk factors of this disease were investigated.Method:A paired casecontrol study was conducted including 115 cases and 116 controls with a ratio of To investigate cases and controls by questionnaire,collecting the data of related study factors.Then we analyzed the relationship of those factors and lumbar intervertebral disc herniation by means of unconditional Logistic regession model.Result:The results of multivariate Logistic regression via SPSS 13.0 shows the risk factors of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation were redundant lumbar activity(OR=4.753,95%CI:2.002--11.284),lack lumbar exercise (OR=0.029,0.366,0.321,95%CI:0.002--0.350,0.101--1.324,0.116--0.886),lumbar injury(OR=7.553,95%CI:2.097--27.205),smoking(OR=2.506,95%CI:1.035--6.067) and psychosocial risk factors(OR=3.384,95%CI:1.223--9.363).Conclusion:This study shows that lumbar intervertebral disc herniation have the relationship with many factors like redundant lumbar activities,lack physical exercise,lumbar injury,smoking,marriage,sychlogical factors.It's vital to keep physical exercise, prophylaxis of lumbar injury,early active diagnosis and therapy of lumbar disease or injury,quit smoking.
