Objetive:To observe and to evaluate the efficiency and safety of Intermediate and Long-Term in ASDⅡwith transcatheter occluder device. Methods:From 2000.6 to 2006.5,167 patients in our hospital, aging 3 to 67 years(average 32.5±9.6).The diameter of atrial septal defect was 5 to 41 mm by Doppler and 2-dimensional echocardiography,averaging(23±8).In these patients,27 have pulmonary hypertensive arteriopathy, all patients underwent interventional therapy,3 and 6months,1,2,3,4 and 5 years after operation,ph ysical examination,Ttansthoracic echocardiography(TTE)echocardiography(ECG)and chest radiography were performed in all patients. Results:All patients had successful transcatheter closure except 9 patients. No death and no severe complications in operation and in follow-up.The size of ASD was too large to be occluded in 5 cases,3 patients were not central-type,1 was diagonized mitral stenosis in the same time and balloon dilatation was fail, these nine gave up.Follow-up of 6 months- 72months(median 41 months)during which no death and serious complications. All defects were completely blocking,in lon g-term follow-up,no residual shunt.Echocardiography showed device location, good shape.Cardiac morphology, structure gradually returning to normal and cardiac function improved. Conclusion:Transcatheter closure using occluder device is an efficient and safe interventional procedure for patients with ASD in Intermediate and Long-Term.No serious complications during follow-up,hemodynamics improved and cardiac morphology were restored.
