| This study is to observe and evaluate the immune mechanism and the clinical effect of acupuncture at Qiao channel on Bell's palsy(BP). Methods 87 cases were divided at random into a acupuncture located on Qiao channel group and a routine acupuncture therapy group. The clinical symptoms and signs before and after treatment were observed, The content of complement C3,C4 and IgA,IgG and IgM in serum before and after treatment were determined. The result indicated: compared by control group acupuncture located on Qiao channel can increase the clinical effectiveness , improve the integral of facial neurological function .It can decrease the contents of complement C4 in blood serum significantly, and can reduce the contents of IgA,IgG. Conclusion acupuncture located at Qiao channel has an obvious therapeutic effect on BP, and they exert the therapeutic effect possibly through regulative action on immune functions.The study shows that acupuncture located at Qiao channel has a definite therapeutic effect on BP, and has the characteristic of less hurt and side-effect, which represents the trend towards the development of modern medicine and offered a new way for the clinic.
