| Objective: To investigate the status of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing in Shanghai, and construct the framework of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing working mode.Methods: Analyze the status of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing by questionnaire and fieldwork. Theory study, structure and element analysis and Delphi method were done to construct the framework of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing.Results: The nurses lack of knowledge about rehabilitation nursing. Less attention was given to the fields of rehabilitation nursing assessment, coaching patients exercise and ADL therapy, psychological care and discharge guidance and following up.The concept of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing working mode was described, which had four elements such as organization structure, working scope and process, and quality control.Conclusion: More education and training should be given to the nurses in orthopedic departments about rehabilitation nursing knowledge and skills. The in-service training and identifying qualification systems for orthopedic nurses should also been established. Hospitals should establish and perfect working mechanism for rehabilitation nursing. The framework of orthopedic rehabilitation nursing working mode need to be modified and improved in further research.
