ObjectiveThe purposes of this study are to investigate the coping style of medical college graduates at present, the relevant social-psychological factors and the inherent relation of the factors, then suggest the specific psychological intervention. Find feasible statistical techniques and the methodology guidance to deal with problems in the similar research.MethodsThe relevant information about coping style was collected through the questionnaire survey in all Fujian Medical University graduates. The data was analyzed by multiple stepwise regression analysis, principal component regression analysis, Bayesian networks analysis, path analysis and so on.ResultsThe graduates were asked to finish the questionnaire in class. The number of the total utility questionnaire is 596. Multiple stepwise regression analyses showed: the factors affecting positive coping style were self-efficacy, psychoticism, internality, support utilization, pressure and gender; And the factors affecting negative coping style were neuroticism, self-efficacy, gender, punished, extraversion. Bayesian network analyses showed: the factors affecting positive coping style were psychoticism, support utilization, internality, gender, subjective support, self-efficacy, forfeiture, objective support, neuroticism and extraversion. The directly factors were psychoticism, support utilization and internality; And the factors affecting negative coping style were neuroticism, internality and self-efficacy. The directly factor was neuroticism. Setting up the path analysis model of positive coping style, goodness of fit index was 0.9906, the model performed better. The result showed: the total effect of self-efficacy on the positive coping style was the largest, followed by internality, Psychoticism, gender, support utilization and pressure.ConclusionsLife events, personality characteristic, society support, internality, self-efficacy are social-psychological factors on the coping style of medical college graduates. According to the results, the measures of specific psychological intervention were provided. Some traditional statistical methods (such as multiple stepwise regression, principal component regression) have its disadvantages and its applicability, so concludes should combine with professional knowledge. Bayesian network provide basic framework for building path plans, which better handle the problem of the path analysis. According to the method, we draw detailed, in-depth conclusions and Conclusions are more consistent with reality.
