Objective: To evaluate operation methods selection for hallux valgus. Methods: Use the 27 (41 sides)patients information from Xinjiang medical University the first affiliated hospital orthopaedics center. All the cases were diagnosed hallux valgus and hospitalized form January 2002 to January 2007.All the patients have not inflammation,never and muscle disease history. The 27 cases hallux valgus angle(HVA) exceed 25°(average 32°),intermetatarsal angle (IMA) exceed 10°(average 12.5°) and have the first trasometatarsal joints pain from 3 months to 10 years. Review analysis the treatment results about 24 cases had superimposed sutura operation, 15 had reforming McBride operation, 1 had keller operation and 1 had joint fixation operation. Result: All 41 sides hallux valgus had operation. The fineness of superimposed sutura operation is 83.33%. the reforming McBride operation is 93.33%. Conclusion: Base on patient's character,age,living condition, decide the factor about invasion state,disease progress and malformation improvement, in the same time, we must observe the peculiarity,location,region affection and continue time of the pain. Select suitable operation methods take a important part in affecting therapy result of hallux valgus patients.
