Objective:to analyze the relationship of hyperuricemia with biochemicals, body common items, insulin, leptin and leptin gene polymer-phism(G2548A),to explore the possible factors and susceptible genes among males. Methods:A case-control study was conducted with 146 males cases of hyperuricemia and 176 males as controls, body blood pressure and biochemical variable were measured and dietary, lifestyle and diseases history were conducted face-to-face investigation.Using DNA sample to detect leptin gene G2548A polymorphism by the methods of PCR-RFLP.Results:1)Compared to normouricemic subjects, hyperuricemic subjects had significantly greater body mass index and WHR,higher blood pressure, glucose, blood lipid concentrations, leptin and INS and HOMA-IR were significant higher(p<0.05),especially BMI,WHR,DBP,TG, TC(p<0.001),but ISI was lower than case-control.Hyperuricemic subjects had significantly higher frequency of obesity, hypertension and dyslipidemia(P<0.01).2) There was significance difference in frequencies of allelein G-2548A polymorphism between hyperuricemia and control group(x~2=7.57,P<0.01).Individuals with AA genotype showed higher fasting leptin,INS,HOMA-IR than those with GG genotype (P<0.05).3)Logistic regression analyses showed that SBP,DBP,TG,INS,high Beer intake and purine intake were the risks of hyperuricemia.Conclusion:1)Obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia and arteriosclerosis were closed related to hyperuricemia. Hyperleptin and insulin resistance may be the basic of these diseases;2)Beer,wine and purine played a significant role in increasing serum uric acid level. For prevention and treating hyperuricemia, people need to decrease the intaking of alcohol and purine;3) Leptin gene polymorphism G-2548A is significantly correlatioed with the hyperuricemia. A allele of leptin may be a genetic factor that may contribute to individual susceptibility for hyperuricemia.
