| Objective:To evaluate the diagnosis value of standard uptake value(SUV)of 18Ffluorodeoxyglucose(18F-FDG)in oral squamous cell carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.Methods:23 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinoma in Shanghai 9th hospital were underwent18F-FDG PET/CT imaging in the PET CENTER of Shanghai Renji hospital.There are 13 mail and 10 femail,age from 15y～77y,middle age is 55y.7 in 23 were uderwent 18F-FDG PET/CT before operation in 1 month and were found clinical symptom and tumor in oral and maxillofacial region.The other 16 patients were uderwent 18F-FDG PET/CT after operation 1a～3a.Among them 12 patients were found cervical lymphonode clinically.All cases were comfirmed histopathologically.Results:Compare to histopathological results,6 in 7 were positive,1 were faulse positive.9 in 16 were positive,6 were negative and 1 was faulse positive. Among 9 positive,2 were cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinoma;5 were recurrence with cervical lymph node metastasis;1 was recurrence with cervical lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis;1 was recurrence.All histopathological result of the positive patients were squamous cell carcinoma.According to histo--pathological results,we devided SUV into 3 groups,well differentiated group,poorly differentiated goup and none carcinoma group.The sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy of SUV in diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinom were 100%,80%,and 91.30%.The 3 group SUV were different though F test.F=32.77,P=0.0000,P＜0.05.q test,P＜0.01.Conclusions:18F-FDG PET SUV has high sensitivity and accuracy value in diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.It is a very useful modality for diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.
