Detoxification, Rapid Propagation And Pharmacodynamics Of Crocus Sativus L

This study aims at eliminating the virus from the plant by utilizing stem apex tissue culture protocol, and the detoxified shoots were used to extensive propagation through tissue culture. To increase the production of saffron,we investigated the different explants, disinfection reagents, sterilization time, medium and growth regulator concentration ratios to find out the most suitable conditions for extensive propagation of Crocus sativus L.. Furthermore, in order to expand the medicinal resources, we investigated anti-nociceptive activity, anti-inflammatory activity and antidepressant activity of corms, apical buds, lateral buds. The results showed that the extracts of apical buds had potential anti-nociceptive activity and the extracts of lateral buds had potential anti-inflammatory activity and the extracts of corms had potential antidepressant activity. The present study provided new ideas and prospects for the application and development of Crocus sativus L.
