Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe traumatic disease in central nervous system for which no satisfying treatment is available. In this research, on rodent SCI model, Bone marrow mesenchymal cells(BMSCs)are transplanted into spinal cord combined with pedicled greater omentum. The recovery of locomotor and regeneration of axons are evaluated. The results of this study demonstrates feasibility of new strategy of treatment for SCI. This research demonstrates that transplantation of BMSCs combined with pedicled greater omentum can improve locomotor function and axonal regeneration after SCI better than mere BMSCs transplantation.
