Objective:To predict the operation risk of the cases with possum and p-possum scoring system. By analyzing the difference between the observed and the predicted value to figure out the effect of possum and p-possum scoring syetem in preoperative evaluation of aged patients with hip arthroplastyMethodwe study the 8 rencent years age -patient arthroplasty retrospectively, get 12 variables : age ,heart sign and the x -ray ,respiratory system and the x-ray,systolic pressure, pulse and so on and calculate the ps ;get 6 variables of operation severity :operation size, times ,blood loss and so on and work out the OS . Then by use of possum and p-possum ,figure out the predicted motality and complication .According to the risk level ,put the patients into 2 groups. The predicted mortality in each group equals the average risk level~* the patients number .By use of the O:E to compare the predicted with the observed. Separete the patients into the dead and surviving groups , with and without complication groups .If there is significant difference between the predicted and the observed valued is calculated by chi-square testResultpreoperative PS are 11 to 33 and 19.3 in average, operative risk scores 9 to 16 and 9.97 in average Conclusion:P-possum can predict the mortality more accurately in the patients with hip arthroplast and possum is better in predicting the post operative complication...
