Objective: To develop a method for the simultaneous determination of metolcarb, aldicarb, carbofuran, carbaryl, isoprocarb in vegetables by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) .Methods: The homogenized samples were extracted with acetone-NaCl-dichloromethane and concentrated by N2 at 40℃. Further cleanup was performed on amino-cartridge and condensed to 2.0ml by N2 at 40℃. HPLC was applied for quantitative detection of the pesticides in the samples. The chromatographic conditions included an Agilent C18 column (4.6×250mm, 5μm) with the mobile phase of methanol-water(45:55) and detected using a DA detector at 210nm. The column temperature was 40℃and the flow rate was 1ml/min.Results: This method had correlation coefficients of greater than 0.999 with good relative standard deviations of less than 8%. For vegetable samples, such as tomatoes, potatoes, cabbages, the samples' average recoveries were 83.7%~108.0%. The detection limits were 0.02mg/kg for metolcarb and . aldica, 0.01 mg/kg for carbofuran, 0.006mg/kg for carbaryl and 0.06mg/kg for isoprocarb. Conclusion: It was concluded that this method is simple, sensitive, accurateand reproducible.
