Objective:We investigate the expression of Ets-1 and VEGF in relation to the clinical significance of baldder cancer, and it may provide reference for accurate estimate prognosis of the disease and cure the disease in clinic.Method: Tumor speciments of transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) from 48 patients were included (28 Ta-1 speciments,20 T2-4 speciments), and normal bladder mucosa (n=10) were taken as a control. Immunohistochemistry of standard avidin-biotin-peroxidase (SP) technique for Ets-1 and VEGF were performed. Results: The positive expression rate of Ets-1 in different group were as follows: Ta-1 32.1%, T2-4 65.5% (P<0.05); I 31.3%, III 66.7%(P<0.05); primary cancer 33.3%, recurrent cancer 66.7% (P<0.05); The positive expression rate of VEGF in different group were as follows: Ta-128.6%, T2-4 85.0% (P<0.01); I 25.0%, III 77.8% (P<0.01); primary cancer 36.7%, recurrent cancer 77.7% (P<0.01).Conclusion:1. The expression of VEGF and Ets-1 can be one of parameters for understanding the biological behavior of bladder transitional bladder cancinoma. 2. The expression of VEGF is positive correlation to the expression of Ets-1 in TCC,and they may participate in the formation of a tumor blood vessels.
