Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the three most unmanagable diseases. It harms people's health badly. With the changing of life style and environment, more and more people suffer from diabetes mellitus. And the patients are becoming younger and younger. Since there are too many factors that have something to do with diabetes mellitus, most of the patients need to inspect the blood sugar to keep it under control or facilitate the treatment. As a result, the portable blood glucose meter becomes popular with those patients because of its convenience.Currently, most of the research on the portable blood glucose meter is focused on the technology. Very few people have paid attention to development of the human-computer interaction. This thesis takes the theory of human-computer interaction as the academic guide. It begins with searching for and researching on the target customers, detecting their potential needs on the interaction with the portable blood glucose meter. The author Analyzed and compared the applying process and application method and understood the condition of human-computer interaction between the user and the portable blood glucose meter. It values the interaction performance of the current portable blood glucose meter, summarizes the advantage and disadvantage on human-computer interaction and user interface design. It brings forward the rules for the design of the human-computer interaction as well as the suggestion on the improvement of the design. In the meanwhile, it imagines the development trend of the portable blood glucose meter in human-computer interaction.
